ORIGINAL STUDENT RESEARCH
CLAIM #2
Students at Open World Learning Community create a variety of exceptionally high quality work based on independent research.
Shifts in the educational landscape in the 21st century have required our students to become experts in wading through the overabundance of information available to researchers. Increasingly, our students are first required to curate content for a project before they can even begin engaging in the critical thinking necessary to complete a task.
However, the unprecedented access to information, as well as our school's 1:1 technology program, allows for students to choose truly compelling topics of deep personal interest. This combination of student choice, engaging instruction, and classes administered using a workshop model leads to truly remarkable student work.
